I know I can go straight into iPhoto and click on a photo and hit "Share" send email and then Mail opens and the photo is there. The problem I ran into last night was I had an email that I was typing and I wanted to add a photo from iPhoto into it. I couldn't figure out how to simply do it. I ended up going into iPhoto, clicking on the photo I wanted, sharing it with a new email and then cut copy and pasting that photo from the newly created email into my typed email.

Surely there must be an easier way of doing this once you are in an email and want to simply add photos. How can this be done??

I'm using Mavericks, I'm guessing there is still an icon for it in Yosemite....
