How to add words to iPhone's dictionary?

Is there a way I can add words that my 4.2.1 jailbroken iPhone thinks is misspelled to its dictionary. It is especially annoying when my iPhone replaces the word for me (and sometimes humiliating when I miss it and send off the email).

I have seen this and it didn't work.

Why would Apple not make this a default feature? Excuse me, but this is ********! I mean, come on, no way to add words to a dictionary? Even my last name is "wrong" according to the iPhone and I cannot fix it. WTF.

A stupid oversight for iOS 1-- completely negligent in iOS 4!!!

Do you have your own details entered as a contact? That works for me to get the iOS to recognize my name.
