How to Ask someone to marry you?

Hello Everyone,


I am going to get engaged soon I am just nervous about how I go asking it..

Any ideas, hints or tips?

Not to be rude, but why would you ask a bunch of strangers on the Internet how to propose to someone? I think this is best asked of people who actually know you.

Good luck, and I hope he/she says yes.
 
Truthfully, it tends to depend on the two of you. People have done it at ball games, with the signboard, all the way to the romantic dinner, and a stroll in the park ending on bended knee asking her to marry you.
 
It depends on the person in question. If they like flash, then a public spot, if they are more private/romantic, maybe a private event.

Going down on one knee when doing it does seem to be a trend :eek:
 
Be creative, do it in a way only you could.

And try not to do it while crying, it's not very fun (I should know). :p

This thread was just crying out for ghall. In fact, I'm surprised he's not the OP. :p
 
Here is what I did:
•My wife, then girl friend, and I walked the beach in Daytona. I had my suit on, she her bikini.
•I had strangers gather around in front of the Ocean Deck and they formed a circle around us. Wife to be had no idea what was happening and neither did the people. I just kinda motioned them and herded them around us.
•I pulled out the ring, got down on my knees and asked her to marry me.
•Went to the bar to celebrate with the folks who helped make the circle.
•She said yes.
•That was 19-years ago.
 
The best reason for asking for ideas here, is your not bound to go by the ideas as much as you might a really close friend. Its throwing out ideas and see what sounds interesting, from many points of view.

Indeed, it is a community lounge. The community lounge for a technology based forum. I'm not saying we can't offer you good advice, but it strikes me as odd that this, out of all the other forums that are more focused on this kind of thing, this is the forum you chose to ask this question on.
