How to assign a diferrent sound/song for received text and another for incoming calls

Not possible - it's either on or it's off!
No doubt there are many ways to customise all the sounds if you jailbreak. But not being a bitch or nothing: if you're having problems finding the Settings > Sounds screen, maybe jailbreaking isn't for you.
you can only change call sounds. you can change a sound for an individual person by going into their address card on your phone
i know about call sounds... but thought i could do same for voice mails and text but it seems older phones have this feature maybe iphone will have it soonSettings > Sounds
