How can I get all files/icons in every single folder on my Mac to automatically arrange themselves when moving and coping files?

I wondered this, everytime a new file goes into a folder it gets put anywhere and not... ie next to the last one which was put there.
How do i arrange the files so that they just automatically line up next to each other?

Finder is notorious for not remembering view settings. You won't find what you're hoping to achieve in Finder. One tip is to refrain from using icon view, as many times items won't appear on the screen in that view until you manually arrange or clean up the folder.

Wow... not the answer I was hoping to hear. I too have wondered about this exact same behavior. I use icon view pretty extensively... and it was on my "bucket list" to figure this out. Oh well. Just proof that Apple does not do everything great. It is just that on the whole, they are somewhat better than anyone else.

Agreed. :(

I am disappointed no solution is available.
