Hi!

When I open a window in finder, it opens with the icons arranged in the manner they were last left. Also, the window assumes a size that it last had.

This poses a problem. Whenever I open a window, all the icons are arranged the way they want and many of them are outside the window and therefore cannot be seen.

In other words, the icon arrangement and window size are decoupled with one another.

I have to manually press ctrl+alt+5 to arrange icons and then manually go and hit the green + button. I find this highly counter-productive. Every time you open a window in finder you have to press six buttons. What am I missing?

Is it possible to set finder in such a way that when it opens a window it automatically arrange the contents to fit the size? Or visa versa?

Thanks.
