How to avoid "downloads" folder in OS X (.6.8)

Hi!

This might be a stupid question, but when I download things -- I need them to go to the desk top instead of the 'downloads' folder. How do I set that??

MBP, 17", just bought it.....

Duff-Man says....in Safari (and most other browsers) the downloads location is set in the preferences...using Safari at the moment myself so it's Safari->Preferences then in the "general" tab you should see where to set the "save downloaded files to" location....oh yeah!

Hey duff man do you know if there is an extension to safari that always ask me where to save a file!

Exemple I download a .doc and i choose save it in documents

Then 3sec after I download a video and tell safari to put it in video

without always changing the folder in pref
