How to back up SHSH?

Now can not restore the iphone ios to older IOS, can only restore to the currently newest IOS.
How to back up the SHSH, and how to use the SHSH, to restore iphone ios to older ios?

Have you already updated your phone? If it is updated, and you did not save the SHSH while you were still running the previous OS, you cannot restore to the old OS. If you want to save the SHSH for the OS you are currently running, download Tiny Umbrella, plug in your phone, open TU, and hit save SHSH.

Firmware version on the phone has nothing to do with hashes that can be saved.
Only the hashes of the current version of firmware being signed by Apple can be saved.
You can only restore to firmware versions that you have hashes saved for.

I bought a Jailbroken and unlocked iphone 3gs, when I try to save shsh, it says I'm too late. So are these files in cydia or something? I'm on fw 4.01, so how do I get my files from cydia? If I have to restore i'm stuck with 4.1?

You can only save 4.1 hashes at this time.
