How to backup Keynote presentation?

Hello, just in case, I want to make backups of my presentation. Is copying only the big Keynote document file to an external usb memory stick sufficient? Do I need to also copy all the photos and videos to the usb memory stick? Not sure if Keynote automatically embed all these photos and videos files in that one big Keynote document file.
