I want to back up my iMac separately to my NAS and to a SSD and consecutively, not at the same time. In other words. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this in the Time Machine applet or via the third party Time Machine Editor applet. Is what I want to do...do-able? Do I need an additional applet? Is there methodology for what want to do?

Appreciate help/suggestions.

Thanks!

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding your question, but I've had a couple of Macs that I've had hooked up to two Time Machines. In my experience, macOS takes turns backing up to each drive, rather than backing up to both at the same time.

For example if I have two drives (Time Machine 1 and Time Machine 2), one hour it will back up to Time Machine 1, then the next hour it will back up to Time Machine 2. After that, it will repeat the process (1, 2, 1, 2 etc.)

On my main Mac Pro I only have my second drive connected occasionally, so it backs up to my first drive every hour, then when I connect my second drive as well, it then starts alternating between the two drives.

Thanks...you were correct...Time Machine first backed up to my NAS and then an hour later, backed up to my external SSD. Appreciate your tip! :)
