How to batch cut and paste and save

Hello everyone. I am not a pro, but many of you guys are!

I have a question, regarding cutting the top half of digital photos, and saving that part, in a batch. I mean, I have 2000 images, and doing it the typical way in Preview is just not efficient. Is there a more efficient way of doing this? A more powerful program, I am sure, is needed, if so.
