Here’s an odd one.

I’ve got a 12 pro with apple care that expires in October. The battery health max had gotten to 81%, and now it’s 83%.

I took it to apple store to get a new battery and was told by the tech “if you can be hard on the battery before your apple care care expires and get max capacity to 80% or lower, your battery replacement is free”

So… how can I be hard on my battery and drain maximum capacity?

Not that I'm for trying to degrade equipment intentionally to get warranty service, but here are my suggestions. Keep the phone plugged in constantly, watch videos such as youtube outside in the sun on a hot day. Letting the phone discharge to 0%. Leaving your phone in the car on the dash in the sun for extended periods.
