Hi,

I have this 3GS with a cracked screen and one month of warranty left. Obviously the retailer (my carrier actually) will not RMA the phone for me; they never do for cracked screens where I live. They'll just say it's my fault which to a certain extent it is.

So I was thinking, is there any way I can reliably break/foobar the phone so as it appears there's some internal malfunction (such as GPS now working) allowing me to RMA it with the retailer?

Not to mention, I'm sure that they could attribute any non-working internals to the cracked screen. After all, a cracked screen implies that the user wasn't entirely careful with the device.
