How to burn an .iso file onto a dvd / cd?

I have gotton a .iso file (Window's vista) and do i just drag and drop the .iso file or do i open it and drop the contents of the file into the unwritten CD?

Open Disk Utility, drag the ISO into disk utility, then right click and Burn...

When i was burning my windows disk i used disk utility. I think i dragged the .iso to the area to the left showing all mounted disks and then right click on it and choose burn to cd (or whatever it says).

Worked for both Win XP and 7 using DVDs.
