This might be the biggest noob question of all time.

When I insert a DVD into the computer, how do I get it to copy to the hardrive so I can play it from there?

Thanks.

Never tried it, but i would imagine you would just drag it from the desktop onto the Macintosh HD icon (But I could be wrong, according to my wife I usually am :( )

The correct word for that is "ripping" a DVD. And it can easily be done by Handbrake or MacTheRipper.

I prefer Handbrake because you can select what you want to rip, the size, and format. While MacTheRipper can rip the whole DVD for burning later. But for you I would recommend Handbrake.

Edit: Anti-Microsoft beat me to it :p

I have heard that Handbrake is pretty good. I will give that a shot. But first, I need to let Parallels finish installing Vista Business. Party time!

the ripper is mactheripper
handbrake is a ripper+transcoding app., it will compress the video and shrink the size, but of course, the graphic quality will decrease.
