When application updates are available, the app icon on the touch homepage has a number showing the number of apps that have an update. If you choose to update the apps, the number disappears. I avoid updating free apps because the updates often include advertisements that appear on the screen when the app (for example a game) is running. Is there a way of getting rid of the update notice (i.e., the number that appears on the app icon) without updating? Any help would be appreciated.
