How to call someone from VoIP to landline?

i jsut download ventrilo and i was just wondering if you could do anything on the app so you can call a land line or mobile phone? and if so, what information do i have to put in and were to make it possible? any help at all would be appreciated.

Ventrilo is just for voice chat over the internet. People have to download the client and run it and connect to the same server you are on to be able to talk with you. So you'll need an internet connection on both ends for that one.

I dunno if Skype can do anything like that for free or not... but I'd assume it'd be some pay service to be able to make "real phone calls" from the internet.
