Hey there. I searched the forums for an answer to this but couldnt find exactly what I was looking for....

So I was wondering is there a way to sync a device such as a multitrack digital HD recorder (this for example) with an HD camera (this for example) so that when I hit "record" on the camera, the audio automatically records/syncs? OR is there a way to capture both the HD video feed AND the multi-channel digital audio signal in one computer program (like FCP) so that I dont have to go back and sync them all later? If so, what hardware would I need?

Thanks so much!

Given your examples the answer is, no. You need to sych them by hand after you capture them. :)

To do what you are asking I think you'd need a black burst generator, a video deck that can accept black and has edit functions (a deck w/o edit functions would work too but then you'd need a separate edit controller), and a audio deck that can accept black and be remote controlled by the video deck/edit controller.
