Just looking for some pointers on how to capture video & sound signal from my Cable box? I've found this: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSi...Video/Studio+Family/Video+Capture+for+Mac.htm

which looks like a nicely polished product which should be easy to use but just wondered if there's a well trodden path for this sort of stuff?

Software/hardware recommendations welcome :) Oh and if there are any threads on this stuff already, please feel free to link me to them as I had a search and found nothing

What exactly are you trying to do? Do you just want to record television programs to your Mac? Do you already have a DVR (PVR), or do you still use a VCR?

The Pinnacle box you linked to is a digital-to-analog converter, useful for digitizing old VHS tapes and that sort of thing. Let us know exactly what you are trying to accomplish and we can point you to the hardware setup you'll need.
