how to change background of messages app, not single threads within it?

i know how to change for single threads, but i want to change for the messages app it self that is holding all the threads. why would they not let us change that. Is that a bug, not even an option, or wont ever be an option? You would think the stock apps would have that function. IT feels weird to have your whole interface be glass then go to messages and it just be black background..

There is no option and it’s unlikely they will add that option.
