How to change default name in permissions box

Hey y'all - I manually changed the long and short name of the administrator account on my mac. It worked beautifully, but the only problem is that now when a box pops up asking for admin credentials, the old long name is in the name box and i have to manually enter the new name each time. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
