there's a couple of apps that i want to fool around with, and i want to change the "name of the program" that is next to the apple icon in the menubar, and the dock icon's name.

for example, i use the program Transmission, and i would rather have it as "Bittorrent" so i won't confuse myself, and other people that use my computer. does anybody know how to do this?

Drag the item out of the dock, find it in your applications folder, rename it, then drag it back in.

how about the titlebar of the window? and the name of the program next to the apple icon in the bar above?

about the dock icon... i should have known :p
