how to change encoding of subtitles?

My dvd player doesn t want to play srt subtitle whic my computer reads. I was thinking may be because of encoding because another srt subtitle is readable...how to change encoding?

Try opening each srt file in this app to determine the text encodings:

Then use this to convert from the unusable to the usable text encoding:
