Just bought a new MB Air and the shop set up the apple care plan but spelt my name wrong in the computer so every time I try and do something in my computer it shows my name spelt wrong........how can I correct that
 
In looked at all of those but still none the wiser is the a step by step way to do this

All of those threads have a link to the same Apple support article that gives step-by-step instructions. Did you read any of the threads and click on the links?
 
If its 10.6, you have to make a new user acct, move the files over and then delete the old one.

I heard there is still residual artifacts from using this method so I just opted to do a fresh install today. I guess it's just as well since I just got a new hard drive. I always like to do a fresh install with the new drives anyway. Coming from a PC background installing OSX even with all of your programs is a day in the park anyway
