Hey guys,

Thanks in advance for the help. Im am using an HDMI cable to hook my tv up to my 2011 Macbook Pro. When I have the display mirrored it work fine, but when I try and make the tv a separate display the tv says "unsupported format". I downloaded the free trial of SwitchResX which works great. I just changed the output display resolution to 720 and viola, I can work on my computer and have a movie playing or whatever on the tv. Anyway, SwitchResX is great but has way more functionality then I need. Is there any way around using it? It seems like there has to be.

Again, thanks in advance for the help!
