My system is mac os X 10.6.8. The files or songs that I originally have in windows has text encoding of simplified Chinese (GB1232). Those will not show up in mac.

To read the text files, I need to use safari to change the text encode. But all the folder names are still unreadable, same as songs which won't show up in iTunes.

Somebody wrote a simple program for me to change all the text into Unicode. However, after the conversion, the text still won't show up in mac, unless i open the text file in safari and choose encode to Unicode.

If anyone has similar experience and solutions, please help. Thanks.
