I got my new Mac Pro this week, there´s nothing about to critizise - exept:

The loudness of the Hitachi Deskstar 1TB !

So the best way out of this would be to replace it for a less noisy one (as for example a seagate or samsung 1 TB drive). I already installed Bootcamp (with XP) and some other applications on the existing system HD - so the question is:

How to migrate the start volume to the new one ? Do I have to clone the whole drive to an external one first or is it possible to copy it directly to the new HD by using an internal slot ? Would Time Machine be the perfect tools for that ?

Thanks for any advice !

When I wanted to copy one disk to the other, I just launched Disk Utility and cloned it using the 'Restore' option.
