Is there any software out there that can check what components are damaged ?

Are you talking about looking for damage on an unknown phone, or talking about checking hardware on a knowingly damaged phone? The Apple hardware test should tell you what's working and what isn't.

For me the iphone is unknown, a friend gave it to me to test it, I know there's also a problem Apple service diagnostics?

I just plugged the iphone 4S in my device but as expected, no response he is completely dead

how to check for waterdamage

Check the water sensors. Shine a flash light into the ear buds and into the 30 pin plug. They should be white.

Google image search so you can see what you are supposed to be looking at.

Edit, sorry misread your post. Since everything is on the logic board does it matter? Or are you just curious?

OP you're gonna have to disassemble and check the mobo itself. There are white sensors that are round that turns red when triggered by water.
