Hello,

I am just curious to the possibility of checking the MD5 hash of iOS 4.2 b3 as seen on such sites as gumballtech.com and downloadable at sites like megaupload.

Do you think this site is legit and not giving out some trojan infested version of 4.2.1 b3? I am asking just because I thought it was weird that someone was providing links to a dev download on file sharing site like megaupload.

Are those downloads safe? Just wondering in terms of people being able to modify the OS. Thanks.a

If you got it from apple it is legit, if you didn't you aren't supposed to have it. It is apple licensed code tied to a developer account.

They have been going round on twitter about this lately, thinking about a way to get around having to have illegal code they can't distribute to make the jailbreak work. This is the backup plan anyway, still have a possibility for the other one to come out. Having this code doesn't fit under the fair use to jailbreak legal wise.
