How to check if new RAM works?

All right, I purchased 4 GB of new memory to replace the 2 GB in my new Macbook Pro. How can I check the RAM to make sure it is working correctly with my Macbook Pro? I've read stories about some RAM modules not working correctly with the new Macbook and Macbook Pro.
