Can someone tell me the way to check if the SL upgrade DVD is in good condition? I have a MBP running Leopard without any issue whatsoever. I decided to give it a go with SN with one of my non-critical MBP units to test the water. It failed miserably.
I get either of the two messages:
Message 1:
Install Failed
Mac OSX could not be installed on your computer
The installer could not copy the necessary support files.
Check Restart to restart your computer and try installing again.
Message 2:
Something in line of "files cannot be read and clean the installation disk."
Since it messed up the installation in the middle, I reinstalled Leopard without any issue.
Is a replacement disk the only way to remedy this? If there is a way, I want to check the validity of this installation disk before troubling myself with returning it for a replacement.
