I think the OP wants to know which country the phone was originally purchased in. If that's what the OP is asking than I don't think you can. I don't see why you would need to know anyway, if you want to know whether the phone is locked or not you can just stick in a sim cards from two different carriers and see if they both work or not. (Two sim cards to confirm the first one isn't the carrier it is locked to)
You can look at the back of the iPhone to get a clue on where it was sold. The FCC logo is on US, Australian and some other countries, while in places like Japan have different certification logos.
