How to checksum ISO and burn w/Toast 7

Howdy Folks:

2 tries ( 2 separate burns ) now burning ISO off internet with disc utilities- both times keeps telling me try install again

can I check the integrity - checksum - followed this
1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
2. Into the Terminal window that opens type "openssh md5 ", without quotes of course
Does not recognize for me .......

and if does check out - dunno - maybe as I am PPC it may be just for intel mac

best way to burn in toast iso - are there special settings I should know about or just choose iso 9660 and let it go?
