My fridge is dying and I need to buy a new one. Because of my space requirements and personal preferences, I decided to go with Side-by-side, counter depth. There are a lot of different makes and models in the stores, but when I do my homework and read all the reviews, there is always too many negative ones. How do I find my way around and make sure I didn't buy just another piece of junk? Can anyone advice, or share experience please.

i usally buy 2-3 appliances per year and have been using ABT.com and or homeDepot. The later has been having the best prices, not necessarly the best selection, deliverly, etc. If you buy at homeDepot best if you go into the store and talk to the sales person as the on line situation is a fail. Seems each store has a slightly different situation. Recuced shipments from China has limited consumer choice or avaliability. I might say ABT has better than average local deliverly. But the deliverly can go wrong 4example; if they say they will call you 2 hrs before they arrive and you are number one on the list expect a very early am phone call.

Fridge:
-measure the space VERY carefully if fitment is tight. Take multiple measurements. Dont assume the house walls or floor are level. Leave a some space for error.
-Buy a new water hook up hose for the new fridge.
-again if fitment is an issue; take into account space for water and power hook up
-Installanon, if you need it, say swaping door left right best to have a plan?
-verify the path into the kitchen is a doable one. A house built 1890 is quaint but the door withs are likely not wide enough. If you need more deliverly help pay for it up front.

Reviews
-Dont read the favorable reviews. Lilely the vendor has planted them, bought and paid for.
-Reviews that are a year old may not apply as the vendor has shifted supliers.
-look for multiple recent reviews being negative on the same issue.
-dont bother reading reviews with only say three entries.
