currently have my iphone for sale and when i do sell it. how do i go about clearing everything from the phone?

keep in mind, the phone is jailbroken and unlocked.

Do a full restore using the same iOS version you are running now, re jailbreak and unlock.

Search the web, lots of tutorials. You need to restore it to your old firmware (to clear the phone) then re-jailbreak.

Is it necessary? Could someone perform deep data mining on an iPhone's flash memory the way, let's say, the FBI can do on a standard hard drive?

why wouldnt it be neccesary? ive got apps and sites im logged into. thats why. it has all my info.

i dont think you want to sell something with access to your info on it. might as well start giving out our SSN:confused:

I wasn't implying that it wasn't necessary just curious about flash memory. I've always disposed of old hard drives with a drill or mallet because (as I've been led to believe) you can never completely wipe a hard drive. Is flash memory different? Can you actually wipe it perfectly clean?
