How to clone new installed SSD as boot drive on MBP 15"(2011)

Hi,

I am planning on adding a OCZ Mercury Extreme Pro 6G to a friends MBP 15" 2.2ghz 2011 model. I will be moving the traditional hard drive to the optibay slot and put the SSD in the hard drive slot for maximum speed.

I have Carbon Cloner and Superduper. Do I format the SSD(journaled), clone the hard drive to SSD, then boot to SSD? What mode is best in CCC or Superduper?

How to format a new HDD/SSD to install Mac OS X or make a bootable copy onto​

And the use CarbonCopyCloner to clone it normally, no special tickboxes to check.

Thanks for that. Much appreciated. I had to do the same thing six months ago but forgot the procedure. Have to set it up for a friend and wanted to make sure I didn't mess up his business files/apps.
