Normally I have this setup.

cable modem/router -> (WAN) airport extreme -> extending using wifi to -> time capsule (LAN) -> ts3plus -> MacBook pro

This all works and I tried to set it up this way instead

cable modem/router -> (WAN) airport extreme (LAN) -> ethernet wired -> (WAN) time capsule -> ts3plus -> MacBook pro

As soon as I did this I could no longer access any internet from MacBook Pro and in general no other device
could access the internet.

.....

Airport Extreme was in bridge mode, Time Capsule was in bridge mode

What can I do to get the connection between the Airport Extreme -> Time Capsule to be wired?

I don't need WIFI to be abled on the Time Capsule so the Wireless Network mode was set to Off and Router Mode was in Off (Bridge Mode)

I do need WIFI on the Airport Extreme however the Time Capsule doesn't need to use WIFI to connect to it.

I just tried the following and it knocked out all internet from all devices at the basestation

cable modem/router -> (WAN) airport extreme (LAN) -> ethernet wired -> (LAN) time capsule -> ts3plus -> MacBook pro
