Typing up legal documents on .pages. Forgot I need to have them printed on a windows printer in .doc format, I believe it is?
Has been years since i have used MS Office.

Downloaded LibreOffice.
Dropped first document in .pages into app, trying to convert to .doc

Says "This document may contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in the currently selected file format “Word 97–2003”. "Use the default ODF file format to be sure that the document is saved correctly."

So. Is there any way for me to drop this into such a format that will retain it safely in word OR must I redownload all the forms and re type them up using LibreOffice in their format?

No idea what the default ODF file format is so don't wish to risk it if the printing place cant print out that format either.

** Assuming .docx is the proper word document today? I think I last used Windows for XP

The simple method is to open your file in Pages.
Go to the File menu, and click "Export to". Then, click on "Word..." from the list that drops down.
Follow the steps.
You end up with a saved copy of your document, in .docx format.

As I am only familiar with .doc, can .doxc be printed out easily from a printing place that uses Windows computers?

Thank you.

Thanks.

When I do that, I can see it exporting in .docx and saving it in that folder. But when I open the folder, I cannot see it. LOL
Nothing is working.

EDIT: So I am unable to see the converted .pages to .pdf file on my iMac but when I save it to a USB drive, I can

It seems I can only convert to .pdf. Am I right to assume that a printing place can easily print out these files in .pdf as they cannot print them in .pages format? And if so, the pages will look correct when printed out?

You will have to try printing the pdf.
I don't know why the .docx file would be hidden. Maybe you are looking in the wrong folder? On my Mac, the exported .docx file does not go to the same folder where my original pages document was saved. It automatically was saved to my Documents folder (the Documents folder is in my own user folder). Did you look in your Documents folder?

A "Printing place" should be able to handle a .pdf file - but, again, you would need to try that. I can't tell you about the capabilities of a random business.

Yes, checked my folders and could not see the saved .docx file BUT I am able to see it when i save it to a USB file.
When converting it, I could see the folder it was being saved to, but invisible when I went there. And not in any other folder either.

No idea why but for now that is good enough for me as all the documents I need printed are on that USB file.

Thanks for everyones help.
That was stressful as I had to have it all printed today and it could be a decade before I need to do this again.
