I have an iTunes library that is mostly lossless. I need to shrink it because my main hard drive is getting full, and because I'd like to have 256 AAC stuff to put on my Ipod. I'd like to convert the files to AAC, but when I do that, it doesn't put them in the playlists they were in. It would take me hours to replicate all the playlists I've already made. Is there some way to make it convert the files and leave them in the same playlists?
I have a backup drive where I'll be keeping the lossless versions. I copied my whole iTunes folder onto that. What I'd really like is if there was some way to keep the two libraries, one AAC and one lossless, synced somehow so that I could make changes to playlists in either one and they would show up in the other. I don' think that's possible, though.
