iPod how to convert music CD to Mp3

new guy to such endeavours: and a bit silly I dont know this already

just bought a music CD and will like to put it on Disk in Mp3 for a mate - can someone give me a quick run down on how this is done

Just use iTunes. It can rip lossless, or can do MP3s if you want a bit of lossiness. 192K-VBR should sound reasonably good in MP3 or AAC.

You need to change the iTunes import to MP3 though, iTunes Menu==>Preferences==>Advanced==>Importing.
