how to convert my mpeg videos in to HD?

Hello I was wondering what i need to do in imovie in order to gain hd quality from my mpeg videos?

if the videos aren't already HD resolution, you can't magically "gain HD quality".

well what format would give them better video qualtity?

um. same thing. if you have videos in format XYZ, there is NOTHING you can do to improve the quality of that video. some formats may playback slightly better, but you can't re-claim extra image quality from the video. in most cases, converting actually loses some data (because all consumer video formats are lossy)
