No idea if this is in the right section. Sorry if it is not.

How would I convince my parents to buy Snow Leopard. We are still on Tiger and it's slow. I need some arguments to convince them to buy it. I don't have any money right now because while on vacation someone stole my money. :(

-Thanks

Lie to them and tell them that you'll take care of them when they're old and feeble.

Or tell them about Time Machine.
(Also you only need to buy the $29 upgrade disk, it works the same as any of the other options)

...and then he passes out, at which point his body automatically starts breathing again, he wakes up...... and still doesnt have Snow Leopard :p

Maybe the brains cells worried about SL will have died off in the process and he will have forgotten about it all together.:)

If you think tiger is running slow, I don't know why or what improvement you think you'll see by upgrading to SL.

Creative negotiating skills. Good practice for a future career working in a business.

You want SL. You need money. They have money. What do they want? :D Figure out what they want, then make an offer... you do something that they want, and in return, they buy the SL upgrade for you. What do you think your parents might want from you? Straight A's or B's in school? All-day weekend work for a couple of weeks? Doing a house project at home they aren't really looking forward to? (Painting, etc.)

It's either negotiating with them or continue to save up money for a bit. Your choice. Sorry to hear about the 'wipe that stole the money. :( Good luck.

I'm not going to tell you to get a job, since that might very well be impossible (i.e. not legal), but certainly there is a way you can earn the $30 around the house or neighborhood. Don't just start asking for something, offer something in return.

Also, as someone else pointed out, make sure your machine is even capable of running it to begin with.
