how to: copy disc to hardrive so i don't have to keep it in optical?

i just got an app that requires me to have a disc in my optical in order to run the app.

i had this same issue back in the day with starcraft, but somehow with disk utility i was able to make a version of the disk that when i double clicked it, it appeared as if it were in my optical disk.

i'm not trying to do anything fishy here, i just don't want to be using my optical when not necessary, it's on my laptop.

Just create a Disk Image in Disk Utility and then copy the contents of the CD/DVD to the disk image.
