how to copy files from a PowerPC G5 to external drive

Hi

I have been asked to copy some pictures off of a PowerPC G5
they have the external harddrive for it
Any tutorials or information on how to get all the images copied onto the external harddrive please

I have no idea what version of software is on the PowerPC G5, if it has different versions, I'm told its not intel

any advice - thanks
