How to copy SMS/iMessage conversation to Mac?

I have an iPhone 5 and I wanted to copy a 2 year long SMS/iMessage conversation to my Mac that is viewable so that I can delete it form my phone and free up some space. I have seen a few programs but most you have to pay $25 for.

Anyone know of a free program to copy the conversation from my iPhone to my Mac?

The conversation is very sentimental to me so I would like to retain having it so that I can look back on it.

I think PhoneView should give you access and the ability to export as a PDF in the trial.
iExplorer can also access it and might do the same.
