How to correctly downgrade to 6.1.4?

I downgraded from beta 1 to 6.1.4 I put my phone on dfu mode and downgraded but I lost my all my data back it said new backup was incompatible with old firmware

I've read on this forums that people get his stuff back, how do i go about doing this?

You need to choose an older backup manually. One made before you were on ios7.

When you choose backup there should be a list. If you didn't back it up prior then it won't be there and your screwed.

I made sure I first backed my device when it was on 6.1.4, then in case I needed to downgrade, I could always go to that backup and restore from there.

I downgraded today from beta1 iOS7 to iOS6.1.4 stable.
