how to create a custom firmware IP 3gs

HI guys,

I have a 3gs which I updated the latest base band to make the unlock work. So far everything is working well.

I want to know how to backup up my phone properly. So if I ever need to restore my phone I can use my custom firmware from my phone when it was working.

Also with the new unlock my GPS is not working which I know is an issue.

Another thing is If I do a factory restore will that brick my phone now?

With the Ipad baseband to support the unlock you can never do a factory restore again. You must use custom firmware from pwnage tool.

That particular tool is for Mac? Is there anything for windows and would I need to download a custom firmware and where would i get it?

You cannot download it. You can borrow a mac to create one or have a friend create one for you.

The reason custom firmware is not hosted is because it is modified Apple code and it would be illegal to host it.
