How to create contacts groups in iPhone 3G?

I have a 3G iPhone and I can't find any option available for creating contacts groups. If I want to forward a message to my colleagues I have to select each one individually by making them? Is it possible to create a group and than forward messages to that specific group?

Basically, you can use 3rd party application to do that job. I am using a free one
