How to Customize the Status Bar?

Does anybody know how I can customize the connection icons like these? And how could I get my iphone to show when I have new email on the status bar?

I believe that as far as the signal bars go, those can be obtained as theme add ons. I tried installing some though, but they worked (assuming this was do to them not being compatible with 4.2.1).

go towards the middle of page....dots are there.

The dots are called "Signal Dots" in Cydia, download then activate in Winterboard.
