I would like to deactivate the tiling shortcuts (such as Fn+Ctrl+arrows). I already unchecked all the boxes in the System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts->Windows, but they still do the same thing.

This is frustrating at the moment, since I have other applications that use the same short cuts, and keep invoking them by error, which, each time, ruins my window setup.

If you don’t use the window tiling at all, disabling it under desktop and dock should also disable the shortcuts. Rather annoying if you still want to snap windows with the mouse/trackpad, however.

Responding to myself : it seems some applications add these dreaded short-cuts on their own. It can be seen in the Window menu.

It could be just fine, if I did not have other applications that use the same shortcut for something else. So, moving from one to another, I would accidently hit the shortcut in the "bad" window, and ruin my window layout. In 2025, such things should be easy to avoid with editable preferences and/or the ability to deactivate tiling system wide.

(also, the MacOS implementation of tiling is really nothing to be proud of; when I need tiling, I use xmonad on Linux and it is so much better...)
